Dec. 11, 2023 — More than 1,400 students are eligible to participate in Wichita State University’s 126th fall commencement ceremony at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17 in Charles Koch Arena.

Nov. 6, 2023 — Wichita State University is home to nearly 5,000 first-generation students, individuals whose caregivers weren't able to complete a college degree and who lack the firsthand experience to tackle college life. To help with their transition, Wichita State offers a number of resources to first-gen students to support them during their time in college, including F1RST GEN SHOCKERS.

Oct. 19, 2023 — The Association of University Research Parks (AURP) has awarded Wichita State’s Innovation Campus with the 2023 Emerging Research Park Award at its annual international conference held this week.

Oct. 17, 2023 - WSU seniors Emily Redfield and Cat Kee attended the National Stage Combat Workshop in Ruston, La. The three-week course offered instruction, testing and certification with weapons such as swords, shields, firearms, rapiers, daggers and quarterstaffs.

June 30, 2023 — A group of graduate students from Wichita State University’s Department of History is chronicling the history of the LGBTQ community in Wichita.

May 21, 2023 — Wichita State graduate student Billy Berue will enlist in the President’s Own United States Marine Band beginning in June. The prestigious band was established in 1798 and is widely regarded as one of the best in the world.

May 19, 2023 — Marie Bukowski has been named the next dean of Wichita State University’s College of Fine Arts, effective July 9, 2023.

May 18, 2023 - Dean Rodney Miller will retire in June following 19 years leading the College of Fine Arts at Wichita State University. During his tenure, the School of Digital Arts was created and enrollment in the college has grown to over 1,000 students.

May 9, 2023 — Shocker graduate Alissa Haddock has spent her whole life battling liver disease. Now she has a Wichita State diploma and a new liver to help her start the next phase of her life.

May 5, 2023 — The state of Kansas has allocated $4.2 million from the state’s budget (House Bill 2184) to Wichita State for need-based aid.

April 25, 2023 - John Kirk returned to college at Wichita State University to study vocal music and dive into activities. He served as Student Body President and came to appreciate the caring atmosphere at Wichita State. John is one of more than 1,500 students eligible for spring 2023 graduation.
